The mission of the technology and library media program is to provide students with the instruction, resources, support, and tools necessary to effectively use information for both academic study and personal reading interests. This mission is accomplished by:
Ensuring the library media center has a variety of sources for both research to support academic study and the reading interests of students/staff
Providing instruction to all students both in class and individually to have a solid foundation of the available resources;to have access to the resources;to have the skills needed to access the resources; and to have the ability to synthesize the information
Collaborating with colleagues in order to gain knowledge of both the needs of the students and the subjects they are studying in order to maximize the impact of the library media program on their education and lifelong learning
The CHS Library is a member of the RILINK Consortium (RI Library Information Network for Kids.) As a member, students, faculty and staff are able to borrow books from nearly every school in the State including elementary, middle and high school level. Instruction on the use of RILINK is located on the library home page under the CHS Library Catalog. If you have questions on how to request items please ask Mrs. O'Rourke or email firstname.lastname@example.org. ILL books are delivered every Friday.
