Not only is it a challenge to motivate students to read in our fast-paced society, it's a challenge to get their attention at all! We are competing with games, gadgets and phones that stream, entertain, and divert. However, we can join forces with these distractions by using eye-catching book review blogs to induce students to read, to critique, to evaluate and to awaken awareness of internet etiquette, privacy, safety and savvy.
"How can I get the flipcard template?"
Once you have an account on Blogger, click on “New Blog”. Give your blog a name and choose any template to start. (When I went in to Blogger and created a sample blog to try to answer this question, I just chose a simple template.)
After you have named and created your blog, you can then change the template. The flipcard format of http://chsereads.blogspot.com can be found under templates, in the “Dynamic Views” section. There are also several other dynamic views which are quite nice as well. After you choose the view that best fits your blog, click on "Apply to Blog” and that will become your blog’s default view.
