Cranston High School West Library: D'Amico - Of Mice and Men

Informational/Explanatory Writing

John Steinbeck's Novel Of Mice and Men spotlights the plight of several individuals who must overcome tremendous challenges due to inequalities in their society: mental and physical limitations, ageism, sexism, and racism in their life due to a social injustice.

Research one of the aforementioned social inequalities. Trace its treatment of those affected by their disability in American society over the last 88 years; highlighting at least 3 significant events, laws, societal perceptions and misperceptions, etc. that have impacted it in a negative or positive way. Be sure to create a thesis statement that reflects a suggested outcome.
