Capt. Isaac Paine Elementary School Library: Summer Reading 2020

Dear CIP Students & Guardians:

With the end of this year’s unprecedented school year upon us, we know you are eager to enjoy the summer months. This webpage features reading programs that you and your child can participate in over the summer to avoid the SUMMER SLIDE - a loss of reading progress...

What Can I Do?

  • Our school goal is for each child to read at least 20 minutes per day - being read to counts just the same!
  • Join the Foster Public Libraries summer reading incentive program, Beanstack - details on their website:
  • Read a variety of books and keep track with the BINGO reading board

All students that return the BINGO board during the first two weeks of school will receive a homework pass or pass for a frozen treat. Top readers, based on logged minutes/books read, will also be awarded Scholastic Dollars to be spent at our Fall Book Fair!

Where Can I Get Books to Read?

Please visit our Digital Books page for eBooks.

Please visit the Foster Public Libraries where they can help you locate appropriate books and will be offering summer reading incentives!

Please email me at if you need any suggestions, help, or want to share the great things you are doing this summer!
