American Journeys: Eyewitness Accounts of Early American Exploration and Settlement (up to 1844)

American Journeys contains more than 18,000 pages of eyewitness accounts of North American exploration, from the sagas of Vikings in Canada in AD1000 to the diaries of mountain men in the Rockies 800 years later.

Best of Photojournalism (NPPA)

An annual contest by the National Press Photographers Association that showcases exemplary photo, video, and web site work. You can browse past winners by category (Best Photojournalism of the Year, Best Published Picture Story, etc.) but you cannot search by picture content or even by photographer name.

News21 is a program of the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the John S. and James L. It is headquartered at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. The site includes the results of national investigations conducted by students.
