American Association of School Librarians Standards for the 21st Century Learner

"Standards for the 21st-Century Learner offer vision for teaching and learning to both guide and beckon our profession as education leaders. They will both shape the library program and serve as a tool for school librarians to use to shape the learning of students in the school." The CHSE Library

The CHSE Library has 32 computers and over 15,000 books.  In addition, over 400 reference and fiction ebooks are available to all students, as well as several subscription databases.  Students may visit the library with a class or as individuals (with a pass from their teacher).  The library is open throughout the school day, and closes at 2:15 PM.

RILINK Consortium

The CHSE Library is a member of the RILINK (RI Library Information Network for Kids) consortium.  As RILINK members, we are able to participate in Inter-library loan with nearly 150 other schools thoughout RI.  This means that CHSE students have access to over one million items, and are able to request books and other items.  These items are then delivered to the CHSE Library free of charge!  Students can request items through the CHSE page at  http://www.ricat.net, and should see Mrs. Blais if they have questions about how to request items through inter-library loan.
