Romeo and Juliet Film Analysis Research Project

Choose one of the following two contemporary films or the 2013 Broadway play: Romeo and Juliet (1996 film directed by Baz Luhrmann), Romeo Must Die (2000 film directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak), or Romeo and Juliet (2013 Broadway play directed by David Leveaux). After viewing your chosen film or play, all available streaming online or at your local public library, choose two scenes from the written play to compare and contrast with two scenes from the film or stage play. How does the film or stage play reimagine each moment? Who is the intended audience and what devices does the film or stage play employ to reach that audience?

Be sure your research project includes the following:

→an engaging introduction

→supporting details from at least three credible sources, in addition to the unit text

→a clear text structure

→a thought-provoking conclusion

→citations for sources, including a Works Cited page
