Grade Level Focus: ARRANGING

T1 Lessons and Activities

Students will be able to: 

  • Follow directions
  • Show mastery of Grade 1 concepts: identify parts of a book cover find E call numbers on the shelf
  • Explain the difference between fiction and nonfiction

T2 Lessons and Activities

In addition to T1 standards, students will be able to: 

  • Define "algorithm" and give examples of ones we use every day 
  • Participate in Mock Caldecott
  • Support an opinion with an explanation
  • Distinguish between fact and opinion

T3 Lessons and Activities

In addition to T1/2 standards, students will be able to: 

  • Create pages for class books based on literature
  • Story plots
  • Guide words

 

Learner Qualities

  • Responsibility: Participates in class discussions, returns books on time
  • Cooperation: Works with other students on group assignments
  • Respect: Waits to be called on, listens to teacher and other students when they're speaking, keeps in own personal space
