Matunuck Elementary School Library: Summer Reading Recommendations

Summer Reading Recommendations, 2022

Below are the summer reading recommendations for 2022. Please note this is suggested, not required reading! The lists are separated by grade level. In each list, the books are arranged in order of difficulty. We encourage you to visit your local public library this summer and work with your children's librarian(s) to locate the books you need.

Also, don't forget to check out the public library's 2022 Summer Reading Program, "Read Beyond the Beaten Path." There are so many fun programs, events, activities, and prizes planned! Stop by your local library to sign up. (Note: The booklet of events for the SK Public Library is linked below.)

These lists were compiled by SK Schools Library Media Specialists:

How to Order Books Online from your Local Public Library

Did you know that you can search your public library's catalog online, request books from other libraries, and have them delivered to your library of choice? Please note: You must first set up an account in person at your public library, letting them know your preferences for notification, etc. Once your account has been set up, here's how you do it:

1. Go to: www.skpl.org

2. Search catalog for desired book.

3. Press button.

4. It will ask you to enter your library card bar code number, found on back of card, and your pin number (if you use a pin #).

5. Next it will ask you to choose the local library where you'd like the book delivered. Your library will either call or e-mail you (depending on your instructions) to let you know they are holding the book in your name for 1 week.
