The mission of the Goff Middle School Library is to provide students with diverse, high quality materials, to guide students in research and information literacy learning, and to be a welcoming and loving environment for all students, staff and visitors.

Library Information

Service Policy

  • The Goff Middle School Library (PGO) is open to all Goff students, staff and faculty.
  • Goff students, staff and faculty can borrow any items that are part of our regular collection.
  • We do not charge fines for overdue books.
  • Heavily damaged or lost materials must be paid for, as determined by cost of replacement. With prior approval, a replacement copy may be accepted.
  • ILL requests will be able to be placed by the school librarian and students, with approval from the school librarian.

Circulation Policies

Students:

  • Loan period - Students may borrow books for up to 2 weeks. Materials can be renewed as needed.
  • Fines - There will be no fines for overdue books.
  • Loan Limits - Students can check out up to 2 items at once.
  • Lost/Damaged Materials - Heavily damaged or lost materials must be paid for, as determined by cost of replacement. With prior approval, a replacement copy may be accepted.
  • Student Responsibility - When a student checks out a book it is their responsibility to take care of it and return it unharmed. Library books belong to everyone in our school community - it is very important that we all do our part to take care of the books we have and return them in a timely manner.

Teachers and Staff:

  • Loan period - Teachers and Staff may borrow books for up to 4 weeks. Materials can be renewed as needed.
  • Fines - There will be no fines for overdue books.
  • Loan Limits - Teachers and Staff can check out up to 10 items at once.
  • Lost/Damaged Materials - Heavily damaged or lost materials must be paid for, as determined by cost of replacement. With prior approval, a replacement copy may be accepted.

Interlibrary Loan - Coming April of 2019

  • All items in circulation will be available for interlibrary loan.
  • The school librarian and students or staff will be able to submit interlibrary loan requests.
  • Interlibrary loan requests will be subject to the approval of the school librarian.
  • Local student or staff hold requests will be given preference to interlibrary loan requests for the same item.
  • Materials being reserved for in-library or classroom use will be temporarily excluded from interlibrary loan on an as needed basis.
  • An individual student or staff member will be able to request a maximum of two items at any given time.
  • ILL requests will be filled (or declined) as soon as possible.
  • There will be no interlibrary loan fees or overdue fines charged.
  • Heavily damaged or lost materials must be paid for, as determined by cost of replacement. With prior approval, a replacement copy may be accepted.
  • Items borrowed through interlibrary loan have a 35 day loan period and can be renewed only once.

The library is open before school every morning and afterschool on Thursdays for book return and check-out, chrome book use for school work, reading, group work, or use of board games and puzzles.
