Each year, a list of Rhode Island Teen Book Award Nominees is created- narrowed down after reading many newer young adult publications in all genres.
Students from around the state are given the opportunity to vote for the next Rhode Island Teen Book Award Winner.
In order for students to participate in the voting, they have to read at least 3 nominees.
Voting typically takes place in February.
Votes are collected in the North Smithfield High School library and sent to the committee to be officially counted.
