What Is Title IX?

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal civil rights law enforced by the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR). Title IX protects all people in federally funded educational programs and activities from gender-based discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and retaliation.
