Using the Hanaford Library

Borrowing Library Items
The loan period is 15 school days (3 weeks). Students may have out up to 2 items at one time. Students with ANY overdue items may not take out materials until all overdue items are returned or replacement fees are paid. 
 
Renewals
You may come to the library to renew if you need additional time. Please bring your items to the library when renewing.
 
Late Fees
The library does not charge fees for late books. However, replacement fees are charged if a book is lost or damaged beyond reasonable repair.
 
You may not borrow if...
You have an overdue book until all replacement fees are paid or the book is returned.
 
Lost Books and Magazines
Students must pay the cost of replacing lost or damaged materials before borrowing additional items.
 
Notices
Destiny, the library catalog system, will send out automatic email overdue reminders to parent emails. Hard copy overdue notices will be sent home once a week, usually on a Friday.

Hours of Service

The Elinore L. Pike Library at the George R. Hanaford Elementary School is open on a flexible schedule Monday through Friday from 9:00  a.m. until 3:35 p.m.

Students are encouraged to visit the library throughout the day, with the permission of their classroom teacher, as long as there are no scheduled classes taking place.
