The Hamilton Elementary School Library serves a community of approximately 450 students and their families, as well as 35 teachers, service providers, and support staff, without regard for age, gender, religious, or ethnic background, political affiliation, educational ability or economic status.

The Hamilton Elementary School Library's resources are selected on the basis of literary quality, appeal to students, excellence in format, authenticity of content, suitability for the normal range of reading abilities, appropriateness to the curriculum, and social value.

As a member of the RILINK Consortium, the Hamilton Elementary School Library further extends full access to its materials and services at no charge to the RILINK Consortium schools, libraries, and communities. If a teacher or student would like a book that we don't have at Hamilton, they may take advantage of our Interlibrary Loan program, through which we can order materials from more than 200 other Rhode Island school libraries.

Classroom teachers may check out as many books as they need for however long they need them.

Students, you are responsible for all items you check out. Please do not loan your library books to your friends! Lost or damaged books must be replaced, either with a new book or the cash equivalent.
