From Catalog to Shelf

How to use the Catalog Book Entry to locate your book on the shelf: 

1.  Write down the Call Number

2.  Match the first part of the call number to the section of the library

  • Call Number ------>  Section of the Library 
  • FIC CAR      -------->    FIC - go to the Fiction chapter book shelves
  • E CAR       ---------->    E - go to the Easy picture book shelves
  • BR E CAR ---------->    BR- beginning reading chapter book shelves
  • B CAR       ---------->    B - go to the Biography book shelves 
  • 398.2 CAR     ------>    Dewey Decimal Number - go to the Nonfiction shelves

3.  Match the Call Number to the spine label on the book using alphabetical order or dewey decimal order.

No password is required to read the eBooks online, but users can create their own accounts to download EBooks and/or save notes.
 
 
 

Click on the Mackin logo below for more eBooks. Use your RICAT login. Open your BACKPACK to see your account, saved notes, and other information. Notes are saved as long as you need them. 

Project Gutenberg has more than 42,000 free ebooks: epub books and kindle books. You can also download them or read them online.These are free for you to use.

You can access hundreds of e-books via the public library; you just need your library card number. To read books on your mobile device, you need to download the free Overdrive app. Don't forget to check out the audiobook collection as well - great for family road trips.

Paine Library Circulation Policies

   Kindergarten through fifth grade has library class weekly for 50 minutes.

   Students check out books every other week.
