The Table of Contents tells me the titles or headings in the book and the page number I can find it on. It can be found in the beginning of the book.

But what is an insect?
An insect has three parts - the head, the thorax, and the abdomen
Insects have 2 antennas.
Insects have 6 legs.
Insects hatch from eggs.
Insect babies are called larva.

For example, if I wanted to find what Ladybugs eat, I would look at the word "food" and then go the pages 12, 14, or 20.
