Jamestown Schools - Summer Work: Entering Grade 4

Summer work expectations for Melrose and Lawn School students in K-grade 9.

Entering Grade 4 Welcome and Supply Letter

Welcome Incoming Fourth Graders!

You are probably wondering - What can I do to stay on top of my academics over the summer? It’s easy! Read a few books - and practice some math each week.

  • Squeeze reading and math into your day (before or right after summer fun)
  • Read at least 2 books over the summer. After, choose 5 tasks to complete from the choice board by the end of the summer.

  • Log into your iReady account and complete 30 minutes of math a week. (That’s not a lot of time - we know you can do it)

Parents, don’t forget that if you want to be a chaperone or help in the school you will need a background check. (this has to be done every year) This can be done starting in September. The form is on the school website.

We are looking forward to a great school year!

Sincerely,

The Grade 4 Team
