Online Subscription Databases
What is an online subscription database?
An online subsciption database gives users access to information in books, magazines, reference books, newspapers and more from home and at school. All you need is Internet access and passwords for the databases.
Why use online databases? Online databases contain information that is updated. They are maintained by companies that are responsible for overseeing their content.
What online databases do we have access to? The Rhode Island Office of Library and Information Services and the Rhode Island Library Information Network for Kids (RILINK) offer free access to databases from EBSCO, World Book Online Reference Center and more to all Rhode Island residents! The Lincoln Middle School has subscriptions to ABC-CLIO American History, and GALE in Context. We also have e-books on GALE’s Virtual Reference Library. You can access these databases from school and home! Just come to the Library Media Center to get the usernames and passwords.
