Burrillville Middle School Library: Summer Reading

Grade 6

Students entering grade 6 are encouraged to read one of the RIMSBA 2024 nominees.  Images and annotations are linked below.  Use this Grade 6 Summer Reading Form for each book you read this summer.

Expectations

Students entering grades 6, 7, and 8 are encouraged to read as many books as they can during the summer months.  Students in all three grades are given suggested books, but are encouraged to read any age-appropriate titles. Students who bring in completed work, on paper, or in their google drive will be given one or two points toward their first quarter grade and be entered into a raffle for each completed summer reading form.

Grade 7

Incoming seventh graders are encouraged to read from the recommended list below and fill out the Grade 7 Summer Reading Form.  For every book read, the form should be filled out and given to their English teacher in the fall.

Jesse Smith and Pascoag Library Summer Programs for Teens

Grade 8

Every eighth grade student is encouraged to read from the recommended list.  Fill out the Grade 8 Summer Reading Form and return to school in the fall.

Many of our summer reading choices  can be found on SORA.  See the hompage for directions.
