RILINK Consortium

The Bain Library is a member of the RILINK (RI Library Information Network for Kids) consortium.  As RILINK members, we are able to participate in Inter-library loan with nearly 150 other schools thoughout RI. This means that Bain students have access to over one million items, and are able to request books and other items. These items are then delivered to the Bain Library free of charge! Students can log in to Destiny Discover through Clever to request books and should see Mrs. Grabbert if they have any questions.

Destiny Discover

Starting this year we will be using Destiny Discover to access the Bain library catalog. Try it out! Log in with Clever to search for a book, place a hold, or renew your books online.

Service Policy

Service Policy:

The Hugh B. Bain Library serves as its primary clientele Bain school students, staff, teachers, service providers, family and community, without regard for age, gender, religious or ethnic background, political affiliation, educational ability or economic status. During operating hours, the library is staffed by a professional librarian who holds a master’s degree in library and information science from a graduate school accredited by the American Library Association. Resources are chosen to support the Cranston Public School curriculum and to engage and excite students grades 6-8. Resources include books, periodicals, DVD’s, digital books and online databases. As a member of the RILINK Consortium, the Bain Library further extends full access to its materials and services at no charge to the RILINK Consortium schools. The facility is available for use by the school community. The Library has a full-time flexible schedule Monday - Friday. Curriculum integration and collaboration are the lifeblood of the library. The library does not charge overdue fines. Lost or significantly damaged materials must be paid for at the cost of replacement.
