Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School Library : About the Library

ASFMS Library Media Center Mission Statement

RILINK Consortium

The ASFMS Library is a member of the RILINK (RI Library Information Network for Kids) consortium.  As RILINK members, we are able to participate in Inter-library loan with nearly 150 other schools thoughout RI. This means that ASFMS students have access to over one million items, and are able to request books and other items. These items are then delivered to the ASFMS Library free of charge!

Library Policies

Students may borrow three items at a time from the ASFMS Library as long as their library account is in good standing.  Library items are due three weeks after they are checked out, and may be renewed if there are no holds on said materials.   Students who have overdue or lost items may not borrow additional items until their overdue items have been returned or paid for. There are no overdue fines when a book is late.

American Association of School Librarians Standards for the 21st Century Learner

"Standards for the 21st-Century Learner offer vision for teaching and learning to both guide and beckon our profession as education leaders. They will both shape the library program and serve as a tool for school librarians to use to shape the learning of students in the school."
