Happy summer. I am very much looking forward to seeing you all next school year. We have a lot of material to get through, but with your cooperation, I am confident we will get through it all. In order to facilitate this, I am requiring you to complete a summer assignment. The assignment will introduce you to the key content for Unit 1 “Chemistry of Life” and my “Unit Concept Generalizations,” something I will require you to complete for each of the 8 Units.
Whilst we do have textbooks, it is not available for online viewing. To complete the summer assignment I recommend using Openstax for AP Biology. This is a free, high-quality textbook that follows the AP sequence, and is viewable online or downloadable. See link; https://openstax.org/details/books/biology-ap-courses/?Book%20details
Other online sites will also be adequate.
The Unit 1 concept generalization.docx will be collected at our second class meeting. Please print them out, 1 section per page. Use the front and back sides for summaries and key vocab from the bulleted list. Feel free to add diagrams, models, etc. These will be valuable study tools, so think about how you learn best. Submit stapled. We will spend several classes addressing the Unit content before our Unit 1 assessment.
