Work students from Cole Middle School and East Greenwich High School are expected to complete over the summer, prior to school opening.

Summer Work Required for Writing 104 URI Intro to Writing and Rhetoric

Three Required Readings and Assignments:

  • Read On Writing by Stephen King.  Take handwritten notes that summarize and analyze significant and/or instructive points/concepts. These notes will be collected and may be used on assessments.
  • Read On Writing Well by William Zinsser.  Take handwritten notes that summarize and analyze significant and/or instructive points/concepts. These notes will be collected and may be used on assessments.
  • Read The Elements of Style by William Strunk, Jr.  Take handwritten notes that summarize and analyze significant and/or instructive points/concepts. These notes will be collected and may be used on assessments.
