Challenges Facing U.S. Veterans

Objective: To create an informative and visually appealing infographic that tells the story of a current challenge facing U.S. veterans, using information from at least three credible sources, one of which is an agency that addresses the challenges) you are researching.

Sources for Research: Students must choose at least three sources from the EGHS databases and may include

  • An agency that addresses the particular challenge you are researching (Required)
  • Books
  • Magazine articles
  • Newspaper articles
  • Websites
  • Primary Sources
  • Podcasts

Challenges Facing U.S. Veterans - Infographic Requirements

Visual Appeal: The infographic should be visually appealing and easy to understand. Use images, charts, graphs, and other visual elements to enhance the information.

Content: The infographic should include the following information:

  1. Major Challenge: Identify and explain a significant challenge with which current U.S. veterans are struggling, which could include physical, mental, and social issues. 
  2. Impacts: Identifying and explaining how that challenge impacts U.S. veterans (and their families if relevant).
  3. Possible Solutions/Help: Identify and explain ways to help address the challenge facing U.S. veterans (and their families if relevant).
  4. Agencies/Organizations: Identify and explain where veterans can seek assistance with their challenge.

Citing Sources: The infographic should include a list of sources used. Three sources are required, one of which must be an agency that addresses the veteran challenge.

Creativity: Students are encouraged to be creative in their design and presentation of the infographic.
 

 

Assessment: A rubric will be provided. Rubric: Veteran Infographic The infographic will be assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Accuracy of information
  • Clarity and organization of information
  • Visual appeal and creativity
  • Use of sources
  • Overall presentation

Additional Tips:

  • Start by brainstorming ideas and sketching out your infographic design.
  • Carefully select sources and take notes on the information you find. A research document for each source will be provided.
  • Use a variety of visual elements to make their infographic engaging.
  • Proofread and edit your work carefully before submitting it.
