Cranston High School West Library: Krista - World War II Research Paper

Modern World History Writing Assignment

Modern World History students in Cranston are required to write one 2-3 page research paper in MLA format including a works cited page for a test grade.

*Choose any person involved in World War Two and write an in-depth research paper about that person and what their involvement in World War II was. Include important contributions or events they were a part of.

Be sure to include a strong introduction that introduces the reader to your person followed by your informative body paragraphs and a conclusion. This is NOT an opinion piece so DO NOT use “in my opinion” etc. You are writing an informative research paper about a person so there is no need to include “I” “me” etc.

We will have a day in the library where Mrs. Evje will help you find resources to get you started. However, this essay will be done primarily outside of school. You will have a week (due date TBA) to hand in research (Hint: use flash cards and write your quote on one side and where you got it from on the other.) You will have another week to hand in a rough draft. Both research and rough drafts will count as quiz grades and the essay itself is a test grade.

This assignment must be typed and in MLA format for full credit.
